35 Years of CRP

Uncle Bob and I borrowed a tractor and planter to establish the first windbreak on the Conservation Reserve Program land.

The new CRP windbreak extended one my grandfather had planted at the top of the field. 

Native prairiegrass stands and the windbreak were well established more than a decade later.

Successful Farming magazine visited the pollinator habitat to feature the new CRP management practice.

Wildflowers have taken hold in the pollinator habitat, which was planted in 2013.
